Testing Mobile Pod series 50 Day 3

Crossing T's and dotting I's

So far the Mobile Pod Series 50 is proving to be road worthy. Before leaving Houston I loaded up with about 60 lbs of ice. While traveling everything seems to be in tact although, I do see some tape pulling away from the solar collectors. I will have to make adjustments to the way they are mounted.

All and all, this thing is handling all the weight traveling with a fully loaded ice bend providing another source for ice cold refreshments. ;) The bumps in the road and vibrations are not effecting the structural integrity one bit. I guess all that time invested into getting the correct adhesion on my bonds is paying off. This things is very cool on so many different levels.

Go go gadget ????

I stopped in Iowa Louisianna for some food and while inspecting the cabin I noticed the rear doors were wide open. Who knows how long they were back there flapping away in the wind.

There was some tape separation but luckily I have plenty of duct tape with me. I used some extra rope I had brought with me to help secure the doors and eliminate anymore damage. I have a solution for this but did not have time to finish due to several constraints.

Settling in for the night

Update, I made it all the way to Baton Rouge. I accidentaly took 10 into New Orleans and missed my Frwy 12 exit. I am parked at a Walmart at 10606 N. Mall Dr. Baton Rouge, LA.

The first thing I want to say being my first real night sleeping in the pod is that it cranks up super fast. I had the cabin down to 67 degrees from an outside balmy temp of 84 in about 80 seconds. It is a bit cramped with all the gear I have in here but it definately serves its purpose. I am setting the temperature at 69 degrees. I am showing 3 bars on the battery. I should be charged all the way up. I am not so sure I trust this control box. Its readings seem to be a little off.

For now everything is nice and cozy. The digital thermometer is reading 64 degrees and 84% humidity. It is a kind of wet cold but definatly appreciated.

Updates

Update..its currently 2am in the morning. We are stalling out at 73 with 88 percent humidity. I am climbing out to see what is happening. I am thinking the ice is stuck and not falling to the bottom of the resevoir to be used by the water. Inquiring minds want to know. Let's see what is happening out there. It is kind of nice in here and offers some privacy. Its almost as if I dont want to open the door and see a Walmart parking lot. LOL.

Sure enough the ice was pinched not allowing it to fall into the water for the heat exchanger. I am brainstorming.

Update... It's 3am in the morning and the construction workers are going at it here in the Wally World parking lot. There was so much noise I popped my head out. Let's just say the workers were shocked and it grabbed their attention. My first fans. Happy Happy. They were very impressed and were asking when the first models will be available on the market and also the cost of the product. Although I did not have all the answers to their questions I feel this is fairing out well for day one of road testing the mobility of the pod.
